[The other Robot Masters smile and wave, or laugh a little when she addresses them, but they go back to whatever they were doing quickly enough.

There's a hint of a smile on Shadow's face, but he shifts back to a more neutral expression soon enough.]

...perhaps, if more humans were like you...

[He trails off, and then shakes his head.]

If that is all, let us be off.

Yeah. I wish they were, too. Things would be a lot better, huh? Maybe Wily wouldn't have to do all this stuff he's doing.

[She smiles, though, reaching out to grab Shadow's hand.]

All right! Let's go!

[Shadow chuckles a bit.] No, I imagine he would still go ahead with his schemes, if only due to his rivalry with Dr. Light.

[But that is neither here nor there.

He blinks when she takes his hand, but doesn't move to shrug her off.]

What is our itinerary?

Yeah probably... maybe I should smack some sense into him.

[She's kidding, of course, but she seems glad he doesn't pull away. He'll have to let go to hide soon enough, but that can be then.]

Let's see... first, a trip to the city and junkyard to get everything I need bought and taken home... then I'll have some stuff in the lab to tinker with. Some of them are adjusts for Gospel, so I can't test them out on you, but still.

[Not that she'd probably test anything on Shadow. For as sharp as she is, she's not on the level of Wily or Light yet.]

After that's when the fun starts, because the new weapons and mods get adjustments out in the plains! So you don't have to just stick around in my shadow.

[He just hums with a little amusement. Dr. Wily, cowered by a little girl. That would make for quite the imagery.]

I would not mind staying in your shadow. [But he does appreciate the thought.]

It sounds like quite a busy schedule. We should make haste.

[It wouldn't do for her to be caught outside in the city still by sundown.]

I'm going as fast as I can! Unless you want to carry me out to the bike.

[She sticks her tongue out, teasingly.]

[Well, she asked, so with a slight flourish he scoops her up in one motion, and in a few minutes they're standing outside the castle, next to her bike.

Let it never be said that Shadow was not fast (though, definitely not as fast as Flash and Quick.)

He sets her down gently and steps back to give her some breathing room from what was probably a disorienting experience.]

[Disorienting? Yes. But more importantly...]

Whoa, that was awesome! So that's what it feels like!

[She seems to have liked it, resting on the bike for a moment before getting on it.]

Alright! Let's go!

I will reside in your shadow.

[With a hand motion, he melts into her shadow, making it easy for transportation.]

[That works for her. Off they go to the city, then! She's at least pretty quick about it -- they seem used to just having an associate ship orders over to her house, at least...

Though she does stop in a game store instead of passing it after a few places, peering at some of the games.]

[The game store is small and discreet, and the shop owner's loitering somewhere in the back room, so Shadow appears out of Rhythm's shadow to answer her.]

...I do not play video games.

[So obviously he would not be the best person to ask about this.]

I didn't ask if you played them, I asked if any looked good. So do they?

[She pokes him playfully.]

[He just crosses his arms in response.]

I am not well-informed about video games, so I cannot evaluate them properly.

[Yes he's just going to keep giving non-answers if you ask.]

[Nope, she's not letting him out that easily.]

[Just. Gives her this suffering look that says 'Do I really have to.']

[He sighs and looks over the games with great reluctance. It takes more than just a few minutes, and it looks like he can't make up his mind, but if Rhythm's watching him closely, she'd notice his one opened eye drift over to this game more than a couple of times.]

[Oh, she notices, and she snatches it up before too long.]

[WELL OKAY THEN. He didn't even say he wanted it but he's... not going to complain. Yep. He'll just meld back into her shadow before the shopkeeper comes back to process her transaction.]

[She smiles brightly, thanking him and playing up the cuteness as she leaves. Heh... it's kind of fun seeing other people melt at it. After that, it's just a matter of getting over to the junkyard.]

Doctor Wily comes by here sometimes, doesn't he?

[Now that they're in the junkyard, Shadow exits from Rhythm's shadow, seeing that she intended to strike up a conversation with him.]

Yes, occasionally he walks through here. He often regards this place with sadness for the robots that have been thrown away.

Yeah... I don't blame him. It's really awful to see it. I can't really fix them up or help them at this point, but... I like refurbishing stuff here. It's kind of like that they're given a new way to live that way, you know?

[He doesn't comment on that, opting instead to pick up one of the junked robots, a mini ninja toy. And then he looks back at the junk heaps, thinking (would he end up like this one day?), before turning to Rhythm.]

...Don't worry. Wily wouldn't let that happen to any of you. Whatever else he does wrong, that's not one of them.

I am not concerned about that.

[And yet... what would happen after Wily died? It's not something he enjoys thinking about, but the truth is that Wily was human, old and.... well, not frail, but still. Close to death. It would be inevitable that he would die one day, long before any of the Robot Masters expired.]
