[He was a new member of the Resistance, actually. Once the Hunters had been disbanded, he worked closely with X to run Neo Arcadia, the supposed city of paradise. But then, one day, without a word, X had disappeared, and it had hurt. It'd hurt that X would just... abandon him, his city, everything, for what? He wasn't sure, but he wanted to find out. Until then, he would continue to run Neo Arcadia in his place the best he could.

Or... that's what he thought, but then Ciel had gone off and made that copy of X, and things changed. Why the Guardians chose to listen to him despite Axl's warnings were a mystery, but he hadn't been surprised when the copy decided to go Maverick and begin a subtle genocide of Reploids. He tried to fight it, but the last straw had been when the copy decided he was no longer necessary and marked him an enemy of the city. A Maverick, officially. Really? Really?

So he chose to return to his vigilante roots and left to fight against the copy and the Guardians. He wasn't happy to be taking down any of X's children, but they didn't seem to want to listen to reason.

The Resistance had always been a third party to him until recently, when he took a hit that forced him to find somewhere to obtain repairs. And they had been hilariously shocked when one of the legendary three turned up at their doorstep looking for help. He still held some bitter feelings for Ciel, who caused the whole problem in the first place, but he couldn't fault her for wanting X back. He wanted X back too.

When she started talking about finding Zero, he'd been strangely reticent to the idea at first. Zero brought on a whole mix of feelings within him, good and bad. But as the fighting between the Resistance and Neo Arcadia got worse, even he had to concede that his power alone wouldn't be enough for this.

Thus, they were here now, in the ruins of Zero's hibernation lab. The Pantheons chased them all the way here, and their numbers had overwhelmed the Resistance members sent on this expedition. The X-copies were endless, and even Axl was starting to show signs of fatigue fighting them. It wasn't good. They had to find Zero before Neo Arcadia found him and destroyed him.

Luckily, the next room he stumbled into to dodge fire was the one that housed the ancient Reploid, and his eyes lit up the moment they landed on him. There he was! He stood up and walked over to the sleeping Reploid.
