WHAT TO DO...

1. comment!!
2. when someone comments to you OR when you reply to them go to the RNG! roll 1-20!
3. match the number with the option below
4. shenanigans!

1 - Snowmageddon - you are snowed in thanks to a freak blizzard. no power, no heat… fuck. now what?
2 - Deck the Halls - nothing is more depressing than a tree/abode/cat/sleeping roommate/insert something else here that isn't covered in Christmas decorations. so whatever it is, decorate that shit!
3 - Night Before - whatever you do on Christmas Eve night? you're doing that now, i guess.
4 - The Good Kind of Snowmageddon - so there's TONS OF SNOW but you aren't snowed in! yay! it's time for fun time in the snow. ice skating, snowman building, snowball fights, sledding, you name it!
5 - Last Minute Gift - good job waiting until the last minute. fight those mall crowds with your trusty stick and keep your fingers crossed that you'll get your hands on anything decent for that special someone.
6 - Mistletoe - NOW KISS. or else you'll never know freedom ever again.
7 - Too Much Eggnog - insert character name here, you are drunk. and you want everyone to know it.
8 - Fancy Pants - you're at a high society Christmas party for some reason, dressed up all pretty and strutin' your style. swag. careful, the punch is spiked. probably.
9 - Fa-La-La-La-La - somehow you've been forced into going Christmas caroling. just hope that no one who opens there door has a shotgun ready.
10 - Cookies - you are making delicious Christmas cookies! or not so delicious Christmas cookies, depending on your ability to bake.
11 - Gift Exchange - time to give that special someone you hate/love the gift you got them.
12 - Silver Bells - dashing through the snoooow in a one horse open slleeiiigggh~
13 - Bah Humbug! - fuck Christmas and everyone who likes it, because suddenly you HATE it! and no one can convince you otherwise! well… maybe.
14 - Kiss Me Under The Mistletoe - Usually there's a choice when it comes to mistletoe, but not this time. Any two people caught under a sprig will find themselves compelled to lock lips with the other. Who will be the lucky one? Is it good luck or bad?
15 - Snowman Apocalypse! - Okay, not really, but there seem to be a lot of snowmen coming to life lately, and all of them throw snowballs. Some hit with these will find it impossible to stay warm short of the body heat of another, while others will find it's their disposition that has frosted over. Then again, maybe it really is a snowman apocalypse...
16 - Mug o' Warmth - Free cocoa and cider? Yes, please, it's freezing outside! One drink will warm the body, but also the heart. It's a good feeling, isn't it? Aren't you glad you decided to have some?
17 - Cookies From Santa - Isn't Santa usually the one eating the cookies? Not this time. There are Santas everywhere, passing out treats. Eat one and you may find yourself in a giving mood as well! Or maybe you'll have the urge to do some baking of your own.
18 - The Best Way To Spread Christmas Cheer Is Singing Loud For All To Hear - You heard someone singing carols on the street, or maybe it was just on the radio. You started to sing along. Now you can't stop, or even lower your volume. Maybe it's not such a problem. Maybe it gets you in the spirit. If not, you'd better hope someone starts to sing along with you and helps you finish the song or you might go on like this forever.
19 - Let It Snow - Well, you won't be going anywhere for a while. The snow is so high you can't see out the windows, at least on the first floor. As you and whoever you're stuck with gather around the fire, you both have the irresistible urge to get emotionally intimate. Maybe you want to share when you stopped believing in Santa, or how you are so very Charlie Brown around this time of year. Whatever it is, it probably has something to do with the season. Alternately, you tried to get away from the snow by going somewhere warmer, but Jack Frost would have none of that. Discuss this unnatural phenomenon with someone else who just had their vacation ruined.
20 - Winter Wonderland - There's a lot more magic to go around, it's just a matter of finding it! Essentially, the wild card option. Blend together the choices above or come up with your own!

[ and here we are, in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. it's almost cliche. Fuji thinks that he should've seen this coming, really, but contrivance always had its way in the end. as he shuffles around the small cabin, poking in drawers and cabinets, he casts Ryoma a vaguely concerned look. ]

Oh, dear. I think someone just spoke ill of you.
reveiller: (☁ sky. the story will continue)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little. [ ah, this cabinet is empty, too. ] Do you want to hear me lie?
reveiller: (☁ have become all too common)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'll start with a 'once upon a time', then

[ though he's not looking for an offer of blankets, at the moment. being an experienced skier, he knows the dangers of being snowed in-- and despite the sturdiness of the cabin, they'll be needing something more than just mere blankets. finding his way to the corner of the small room, he discovers a fire-stove-- dusty from disuse. he finds the hot poker stuck near the hearth. ]
reveiller: (☁ when I laugh with you)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
[ agreeably-- ] Stories are a reputable sort of lie.

[ he says this as he pokes within the stove with the poker, using it to sift the dust around, as though searching for something. ]
reveiller: (☁ i wanna cry; for you)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I never said I wouldn't. [ the dust is thick around this particular area. he pokes at it once, then again. ]

Did you want a pretty princess in your lie, or is just a little prince all right?
reveiller: (Default)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
A pretty princess called Ryoma, then. Princess of the land of Tennis.

I think that has a nice ring to it.
reveiller: (☁ “there’s nothing here”)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that was a quick change of heart. [ unsurprisingly so, even as he uncovers, to his relief, a hunk of what looks to be coal, still intact, amongst the dust. nudging that to the surface, he pokes around, in case there are a few more pieces buried under there somewhere. ]

That being said, I've already lied-- and it's bad form to change a lie once it's been said. I'll just have to go with it.
reveiller: (☁ tule fog. it was supposed)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
[ as he pokes around in the stove somewhat, his mind wanders. what to say, what to say.

well, what about the truth? ]

Well, then, as I was saying-- once upon a time, there once lived a pretty princess in the land of tennis named 'Ryoma'. She was a beautiful princess, like all princesses wont, with eyes of gold and hair of black. Because of her prowess in tennis, legend has it that she was born with a golden tennis racket in hand.

[ and here, he stops his poking to look over to Ryoma's huddled form with amusement. ] A little like our tennis prodigy here, I'd say.
reveiller: (☁ upwelling. my ego knows that)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
No, that would be the truth.
reveiller: (☁ gust. until I met you)

xD

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
[ and he goes on, amused. ]

The legend only serves to illustrate how great her tennis prowess is, anyway. And the legend really isn't far from the mark in a metaphorical sense. Her tennis abilities were so powerful that none could stand against her. She defeated everyone and anyone [ a pause. ] except for the king, who was the only one who stood above her.

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
However, the princess was too young to fully appreciate her tennis powers-- she didn't love tennis; only saw it as a means of war, if you will. In the end, it became apparent that the destructive powers of her tennis was both all-consuming and self-destructive.

[ he looks up at the wall, here. a murmur-- ]

In essence, tennis was killing her. I suppose that's a bit sad, isn't it? But lies generally are sad, so it fits the theme.

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ judging from the turn of the silence, he figures that Ryoma doesn't like the way this story is turning out to be. however, he doesn't stop. ]

The king, who loved his daughter very much, came up with a plan. Knowing that the princess is very lonely, he gave her a magical cat. Because the cat was magical, it was very adorable, and very, very lovable.

The plan worked. She came to love the cat more than she wanted to use her tennis powers.

This sealed her tennis prowess, but also, as contrivance would have it, kept her alive. [ by ways of exposition, he goes on-- ] In doing so, the king had hoped that perhaps her powers would be sealed long enough for her to grow into a woman who can understand them, so that when it became time to unseal them, she would be able to love tennis, and no longer be consumed by her own prowess.

Ah, and here, the romantic element: he issued a decree to his kingdom-- that whoever can teach the love of tennis to his daughter shall have her hand in marriage.
reveiller: (☁ if meeting people)

[personal profile] reveiller 2011-12-19 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
[ he looks up, amused that Ryoma would ping to that of all things. ]

Of course. That's the enjoyable part of the lie-- no lie is complete without it.
